Dapa Group was founded in 2002 as a creative digital photography group for the enthusiastic amateur.
As a group we capture a wide variety of subject matter and styles. From landscape and natural history studies to portrait and figure work, from still life to abstract and from documentary photography to travel. Dapa Group, like many other photography club’s or societies, is divided into sections; this is so that members can progress with their hobby at a steady pace and not feel pressurised or intimidated by photographers working at a higher level.

Dapa Group consists of three main photography groups.
Dapa “Exhibition & Distinction” Group | Gallery                                                         ... more
This is our top flight group, a specialist group for members wishing to exhibit their work at National and International level. The aim of this group is to work together as a team, in order to push the limits of their photography to the standards required for FIAP, PAGB and BPE* distinctions. This group is a member of the Midland Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF), affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). Membership to this group involves certain fees; these relate to our yearly federation and affiliation fees and to the normal fees associated with entering exhibitions.
Dapa “Advance” Group | Gallery                                                                                ... more
This is our main photography group on Flickr™. Membership to this group is free and has no association with the MCPF or the PAGB. The advance group is a serious photography group for the more experienced photographer with its roots firmly planted on Flickr. The aim of the advance group is to provide an ever increasing pool of motivating images, not only for its own members to derive inspiration from, but for others too.
Dapa “Intermediate” Group | Gallery                                                                        ... more
The Intermediate group has no restriction on membership; again this is a free group to join with no association with any other photographic body. This is a small photography group in which members can progress with their hobby at a steady pace and not feel pressurised or intimidated by photographers working at a higher level. The vast majority of photographers applying for Dapa Group membership fall into an “Intermediate” category. Consequently, this is the section to which all new members are enrolled.

Dapa Group offers three more areas of interest to its members, these are:

Our forum is open to all group members for the exchange of information, relating in some way towards photography. The forum is also used as a conventional club room would be, bringing members a varied programme of events.

Dapa Group, from the outset, has always enjoyed a healthy competitive spirit. Both our advance and intermediate groups offer weekly photo contests to its members. The Dapa Group “Picture of the Year” photo contest comprises of the top three winning images from both groups each week. By the end of the year over 300 images make up the final contest. The contest is then judged independently with the author of the winning image being crowned Dapa Group “Photographer of the Year”.

The Dapa Group Hall of Fame | Gallery                                                                                      ... more
In addition to our weekly photo contests members are also encouraged to show their appreciation of other member’s work, by participating in the groups “Merit Award” scheme. Merit awards are given out by Dapa Group members to images they consider to be inspirational. Images that receive five or more merit awards will be invited to join The Dapa Group Hall of Fame.
